A fin de socializar la actualización del Plan Director de Desarrollo Urbano 2020, el cual se enmarca en el eje Saltillo Inteligente, personal de la Dirección de Desarrollo Urbano ha sostenido reuniones con representantes de cámaras empresariales y colegios de profesionistas.
Andrés Garza, director de Desarrollo Urbano, manifestó que a propuesta del alcalde Manolo Jiménez, se realizaron mejoras debido a la consolidación de la capital de Coahuila como una ciudad moderna, y para continuar con un desarrollo ordenado.
Las mejoras a este documento representan más de un año de labores, las cuales pasaron por varias etapas hasta llegar a su publicación e implementación.
En primera instancia, a través de una empresa especializada, comenzaron los análisis y adecuaciones al plan, posteriormente se realizaron una serie de foros ciudadanos para enriquecerlo.
Luego de este intercambio de ideas, el documento fue presentado al Cabildo y al Congreso del Estado, en donde recibió la aprobación para su publicación y socialización final.
Entre los elementos más importantes está la vivienda vertical, usos mixtos, densificación de las zonas, aprovechamiento de la tierra, la movilidad, conexión urbana y subcentros urbanos, entre otros.
