Se llevó a cabo con gran éxito la esperada función de Golden Fights on Friday VIP, misma que se celebró en un importante y lujoso recinto hotelero de la capital coahuilense, contando con una gran entrada de espectadores que disfrutaron de las más de 8 peleas profesionales que presentó la cartelera.
La presencia del tres veces campeón mundial Fernando “Kochulito” Montiel, del reconocido comentarista Eduardo Camarena y del referí mexicano más importante de la historia José Guadalupe García, engalanaron el escenario y le dieron un buen toque a la noche de puños.
La jornada comenzó con un buen pleito de guantes rosas, la saltillense Violeta “China” Herrera defendió su casa y se impuso por decisión unánime (DU) a Liliana Martínez en duelo de contragolpes.
Tamaulipas estuvo muy bien representado por Felipe Muñoz, quien ganó por DU ante un Ángel Delgado que poco pudo hacer sobre el enlonado. El tamaulipeco Antonio “Forastero” Hernández derribó con sólido gancho al hígado al local Miguel Tijerina en el primer round, repetiría la dosis en el tercer asalto, y terminó saliendo avante por DU, a pesar de terminar con el ojo derecho muy dañado.
La pelea del día sería protagonizada por el ramosarizpense Cesar “Pantera” Chavarría y el regiomontano Luis Prieto, duelo de fajadores que se dieron con todo desde la campanada inicial. La decisión del combate no fue nada fácil para los jueces, con tarjetas de 39-37 (x2) y 38-38, el de Ramos Arizpe se alzó con la decisión mayoritaria ante el de la tierra de las montañas.
Finalmente, Cristian “Kishian” Mendoza venció por la vía del cloroformo a Osiel “Terrible” Lara en la contienda estelar de la noche, misma que fue detenida en el cuarto round por el tercero en la superficie, decretando la victoria por TKO para Mendoza.
