Advierte Londres regreso de atacantes extremistas

LONDRES, GBR.- La conquista del poder lograda por el Talibán en Afganistán “alienta e inspira” a los extremistas y podría significar el regreso de ataques “estilo Al Qaeda” en países occidentales, sostuvo ayer el jefe del organismo británico de inteligencia interior.
El director general del MI5, Ken McCallum, dijo que Reino Unido podría enfrentar un “riesgo mayor” debido al retiro de las fuerzas de la OTAN y el derrocamiento del Gobierno afgano.
“Las amenazas terroristas no tienden a cambiar de la noche a la mañana en materia de conspiraciones directas o campos de entrenamiento o infraestructura, la clase de cosas que tenía Al Qaeda en Afganistán en la época del 11-S”, dijo McCallum en una inusual entrevista con la BBC.
“Aunque la reconstrucción de esas conspiraciones y actos terroristas centralizados toma un poco más de tiempo... lo que sí sucede de la noche a la mañana es que hay un estímulo psicológico, un estímulo a la moral de los extremistas que ya están aquí o en otros países”.
