Jubilan a Darko, elemento canino de Saltillo

Darko, elemento de la Unidad Canina K-9, fue condecorado por el alcalde de Saltillo, José María Fraustro Siller, luego de haber cumplido su ciclo en la Comisaría de Seguridad y Protección Ciudadana.
Darko, un pastor belga malinois tiene nueve años de edad y cumplió casi cinco años de trabajo en la Dirección de Proximidad Social y Prevención del Delito.
“La Unidad Canina K-9 es parte importante de nuestra estrategia de seguridad; a nombre de los saltillenses agradecemos a Darko el trabajo que realizó en este tiempo a favor de la comunidad”, comentó Chema Fraustro.
Darko llegó a Saltillo procedente del Hill Country Dog Center, en Estados Unidos, e ingresó en 2018 a la Dirección de Proximidad Social y Prevención del Delito donde realizó actividades de proximidad como recorridos de prevención y vigilancia.
Asimismo, participó en 517 exhibiciones en las cuales interactuó con más de 100 mil personas, en espacios públicos y planteles educativos de la ciudad.
Luego de la condecoración, este ejemplar que se jubila será dado en adopción al policía municipal con el que trabajó a lo largo de estos años.
El comisionado de Seguridad y Protección Ciudadana, Federico Fernández Montañez, señaló que continúa el adiestramiento de otros ejemplares que se sumarán a esta Unidad Canina K-9.
FUERZA CANINA
En Saltillo existen al menos 13 binomios caninos enfocados a tareas de prevención del delito, seguridad ciudadana, detección de narcóticos y proximidad social.
Se trata de pastores belgas malinois, pastores alemanes y labradores, tres de ellos asignados a la Unidad de Prevención del Delito, tres al Grupo de Reacción Sureste y los siete restantes a la Policía Preventiva.
