Yolanda Ciani y el FIDECINE

Así como agosto terminó con noticias tristes como las muertes de David Ostrosky y Joel López que comentamos la semana pasada, también lo hizo con los cumpleaños de actores importantes de la Meca del Cine.
Fue así como el veterano actor Tom Skerritt, recordado por papeles importantes en clásicos como “Alien, el octavo pasajero” (Ridley Scott, 1979); “Top Gun: Pasión y Gloria” (Tony Scott, 1986) y “Magnolias de acero” (Herbert Ross, 1989), entre otras, llegó a los 90 años de edad el pasado 25 de agosto y las actrices nominadas al Oscar Tuesday Weld (a la Mejor Actriz de Reparto de 1977 por el drama “Buscando a Mr. Goodbar”, de Richard Brooks, al lado de Diane Keaton y Richard Gere) y Valerie Perrine (a la Mejor Actriz de 1974 por la biopic “Lenny”, de Bob Fosse, que protagonizó al lado del primer actor Dustin Hoffman), cumplieron ocho décadas de vida la primera el 27 de agosto y la segunda el domingo 3 de septiembre.
Pero volviendo a las noticias lamentables y dentro del cine mexicano, en la tarde del mismo domingo 3 de septiembre se dio a conocer la muerte a los 85 años de edad de la primera actriz de origen chihuahuense Yolanda Ciani, quien debutó en la industria fílmica mexicana el año de 1959 en el drama “Lágrimas de amor”, de Alfonso Corona Blake, protagonizada por Ana Luisa Peluffo y Carlos López Moctezuma, y a partir de entonces formó parte de elencos de clásicos como la épica “La bandida” (Roberto Rodríguez, 1962), compartiendo créditos con íconos del Séptimo Arte Nacional como María Félix, Pedro Armendáriz e Ignacio López Tarso o la comedia “El extra” (Miguel M. Delgado, 1962), al lado de Mario Moreno “Cantinflas”, entre otras más.
Sin embargo, fue hasta la década de los 70 y con la llegada del movimiento del llamado “nuevo cine mexicano” fue cuando brilló como actriz protagónica en algunas de las cintas que le dieron sus mejores personajes como sucedió con el western “Carne de horca”, dirigida por el actor coahuilense Julio Aldama y donde fue pareja de Jorge Rivero; “San Simón de los Magueyes” (Alejandro Galindo, 1973), tal lado de Carlos Bracho y el mencionado Julio Aldama; “La trenza” (Sergio Véjar, 1975), con David Reynoso; “El mar” (Juan Manuel Torres, 1977), al lado de Meche Carreño y Arturo Beristáin y la también épica histórica “Cananea”, dirigida por una de las pocas cineastas mujeres de su momento, Marcela Fernández Violante, quien recibirá el Ariel de Oro este año, entre otras más. Descanse en paz.
Para terminar, y en notas más agradables relacionadas precisamente con el cine mexicano, quizás la mejor noticias con la que terminó el mes pasado concerniente a nuestra industria fílmica fue la suspensión por parte de un juez de la Suprema Corte de Justicia de la Nación quien a mediados de la semana pasada en la segunda sala de este organismo declaró inconstitucional la desaparición del FIDECINE, uno de los importantes fondos de inversión al cine que el gobierno federal pasó de hacer permanente a ser modificado de manera anual y bajo otro nombre, el FOCINE. Recordemos que cineastas de la talla de Guillermo del Toro alzaron la voz para impedirlo y este triunfo para los cineastas mexicanos que muy seguramente será replicado en la entrega de Arieles de este sábado en Guadalajara.
