Recordarán vida y lucha del padre Pedro Pantoja de Saltillo

Fue hace un año cuando el padre Pedro falleció en el marco del Día Internacional del Migrante a causa del COVID-19.
En medio del marco del Día Internacional del Migrante, la Casa del Migrante de Saltillo y la comunidad de su iglesia recordará la vida y lucha del padre Pedro Pantoja, quien dio su vida por la lucha contra las fronteras y los muros.
Durante ese día, la Casa del Migrante lo recordará a través de sus redes sociales, y se llevará a cabo una misa en la parroquia de la Santa Cruz, donde habrá proyecciones de los momentos que vivió el padre Pedro Pedro con su comunidad y la comunidad de personas migrantes.
Este evento se llevará a cabo a las 18:00 horas y concluirá con una pequeña merienda en la comunidad de dicha iglesia.

El padre Pedro fue uno de los sacerdotes mexicanos más reconocidos por su lucha representativa en pro de los derechos humanos, y específicamente en la lucha por las personas migrantes.
Nació en 1944 en el estado de Durango y dedicó 49 años de sacerdocio previo a su lamentable fallecimiento.
Además, fue uno de los fundadores de la Casa del Migrante de Saltillo y asesor espiritual, además de colaborar arduamente con las organizaciones de derechos humanos de los migrantes, incluso fuera del Estado.
Durante su trayectoria incluso visitó los centros de detención de personas migrantes en Estados Unidos, a los cuales llamaba “jaulas” y siempre se mantuvo combativo en defensa de los derechos de todas las personas en tránsito.
