‘Noche de fuego’: La apuesta mexicana por el Oscar

Esta se trata de “Noche de fuego”, el debut de la aclamada cineasta mexicana Tatiana Huezo (“Ausencias”; “Tempestad”) en el género de la ficción, y que tras su premiere mundial en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Cannes de este año y la Mención Especial que ahí obtuvo dentro de la sección “Una Cierta Mirada” no ha dejado de ser merecidamente premiada en otros festivales como el de Guanajuato, donde se alzó con el galardón a la Mejor Película Mexicana, o en el de San Sebastián, en España, al ser honrada con el no menos prestigioso premio Horizontes y que sin duda fueron algunos de los factores que determinaron el mes pasado los miembros de la Academia Mexicana de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas para que nos represente en el Oscar.
Pero no solo eso: “Noche de fuego” tuvo una estrategia de estreno parecida a la que en el 2018 realizó la multipremiada “Roma”, de Alfonso Cuarón, que tras su triunfo aquel año en el Festival Internacional de Venecia con su máximo galardón, el León de Oro, a pesar de ser una producción original de Netflix su director y productor, Nicolás Celis, optaron por su estreno previo a la plataforma en cines de México para ir generando un satisfactorio “boca a boca” como se hizo con “Noche de fuego”, que luego de estrenarse en los cines de nuestro país en otra importante fecha de nuestro calendario oficial, el 16 de septiembre pasado, desde el pasado miércoles se encuentra disponible por la mencionada plataforma.
Curiosamente, justo un día después del estreno de “Noche de fuego” por Netflix, una importante publicación norteamericana como Indiewire, incluyó entre sus pronósticos para formar parte de la lista de 15 películas que muy seguramente estarán entre las pre-seleccionadas en la terna a la Mejor Película Internacional a “Noche de fuego”, una hazaña que después de que “Roma” eventualmente hizo historia al convertirse en la primera producción mexicana en ganar el Oscar a la Mejor Película Internacional también alcanzó “Ya no estoy aquí”, de Fernando Frías, pero no llegó a la ronda final de las primeras cinco del año pasado.
En el caso de “Noche de fuego”, tiene muchas más posibilidades de volver a ganar el Oscar para México porque además del talento innegable y creciente de su directora Tatiana Huezo, está cobijada por el productor Nicolás Celis, el mismo de “Roma”, y ya conocedor del camino al éxito, conduce sin lugar a dudas su más reciente producción a otra importante distinción puesto que es una obra maestra desde su primera secuencia donde a una niña la colocan en un agujero para asegurar su integridad física en el entorno violento en el que vive, hasta la “Noche de fuego” del título con la que culmina el relato que puede equipararse inequívocamente al que vimos en la misma plataforma con la serie “Somos”, de James Schamus, sobre la masacre de Allende.
En “Noche de fuego”, como en “Somos”, sus protagonistas son tres adolescentes que habitan en el estado de sureño de Guerrero y van tomando conciencia del entorno de violencia que las rodea.
