Bengals elige a Burrow como la selección número 1 del Draft de la NFL

Como se habían dicho en todos los pronósticos, el quarterback de LSU fue elegido en el puesto número uno global por el equipo de Cincinnati
Bengals de Cincinnati se fueron a la segura y eligieron a Joe Burrow como la elección número uno global del Draft de la NFL 2020, el cual se llevó a cabo de manera virtual y en donde el quarterback recibió la noticia desde su porpia casa.
Desde hace un par de meses se manejaba esta posibilidad e incluso el propio quarterback proveniente de los Tigers de la Universidad Estatal de Louisiana ya había indicado que estaba emocionado en caso de que los Bengals lo eligieran en el puesto número uno del Draft.

Burrow llega a un equipo con muchas carencias y que no ha podido calificar a los playoffs desde el 2015, ni ha ganado un partido de postemporada desde 1991.
Muy probablemente será elegido como el quarterback titular, dejando en suspenso el futuro de Andy Dalton, quien nunca pudo dar el ancho desde que llegó al equipo en el Draft del 2011, cuando fue elegido en el puesto global 35.
El quarterback de LSU comandará un cuerpo ofensivo muy competente, teniendo a A.J. Green y Tyler Boyd como receptores, Joe Mixon y Gio Bernard en el backfield, y una línea ofensiva que mejorará con el “novato” Jonah Williams, quien se perdió 2019 por lesión. De todos modos será una tarea importante para la gerencia tratar de reforzar la línea ofensiva para cuidar a su nueva estrella.
Además de redoblar esfuerzos para mejorar la defensiva, luego de ser el cuarto equipo que más yardas permitió la temporada pasada (6,299), siendo el que más yardas terrestres permitió (2,382).
La primer prueba de la NFL en la nueva temporada fue superada, ahora falta ver si los tiempos se acomodan para tener una pretemporada decente, ya que aún no se ha informado si tienen contemplado cambiar de fecha el primer juego de campaña regular, que está programado para el 20 de septiembre, en una campaña que se espera sea de 17 Semanas.
