Ligadas a la obesidad la depresión y ansiedad, asegura experta

La obesidad ha sido reconocida por la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) como una enfermedad que apuntalan los principales problemas de salud integral, que enfrenta el mundo.
Aunque las causas de este padecimiento son variadas, su principal detonante son los hábitos alimenticios inapropiados y estilos de vida sedentarios, ambos espectros se conjuntan con aspectos de la salud mental de los pacientes.
Así lo indica la nutrióloga Marcela Vargas, quien señala que existen investigaciones que sugieren que la ansiedad y la depresión son espectros que impulsan el desarrollo de emociones como el trastorno de ansiedad.
“Se trata de diagnósticos clínicos que impactan en la segregación química del cuerpo, influyen en el estado de ánimo y hacen que la alimentación se incline por cierto tipo de comestibles reconfortantes o calmantes”, explica la doctora especialista en nutrición.
EQUILIBRIO ES LA BASE
De acuerdo con Vargas, una microbiota intestinal sana será necesaria siempre para el desarrollo cerebral y su buen funcionamiento, su desequilibrio puede producir trastornos depresivos o de ansiedad.
“El consumo de ciertos nutrientes te ayudan a disminuir los síntomas depresivos, algunos pueden ser la vitamina D, vitamina C, zinc, aminoácidos como el triptófano que se encuentra en el plátano, espinacas, pescado, salmón, y entre otros;
“Lo que ayuda al cuerpo para evitar la ansiedad y depresión es la serotonina, melanina, y el 90% se crea a nivel intestinal y solo un 10% a nivel cerebral, de ahí la importancia de mantener una ingesta alimentaria de calidad”, indica.
TRASTORNOS DEL COMPORTAMIENTO
La directora de la Facultad de Psicología de la Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila, Berenice de la Peña, detalló que la depresión es un padecimiento grave que afecta de forma física y mental, influyendo en el modo de sentir y pensar de las personas.
Este trastorno les obliga a permanecer en aislamiento, con falta de autoestima, sentimientos de culpa, trastornos del sueño, sensación de abandono, desesperanza, frustración y entre otras manifestaciones.
En ese sentido, dice, es común que las personas con diagnóstico de depresión clínica o ansiedad, suelen tener una microbiota intestinal alterada.
Al igual que Vargas, apunta que la flora intestinal tiene una gran importancia al segregar los nutrientes necesarios para que se lleven a cabo procesos relacionados con el sistema nervioso, su funcionamiento, con la psicología del paciente y su comportamiento.
EL DATO
La depresión y ansiedad son dos de los principales problemas de salud mental en donde se ha observado una alta incidencia de casos de acuerdo con especialistas en el tema; nutricionistas apuntan que la obesidad puede derivarse de estos trastornos y es necesario llevar un tratamiento que abarque el 60% con psicólogos y el 40% con nutriólogos.
