No cederá inflación por cuatro factores; China, servicios, petróleo y tasas

La inflación se está agravando en gran parte del mundo, mientras se prolonga más de lo deseado. De acuerdo a economistas, la carestía podría no haber tocado su punto máximo, además que se prolongaría todavía por un tiempo.
Jörg Krämer y Bernd Weidensteiner, economistas de Commerzbank (el cuarto banco más grande de Alemania), comentaron en el boletín mensual del banco que “es probable que la inflación tanto en la zona del euro como en Estados Unidos alcance nuevos máximos en junio. La inflación subyacente también debería seguir aumentando a medio plazo, al menos en la zona del euro. En este entorno, es probable que el mercado revise sus expectativas para las tasas clave de la Fed y el BCE aún más al alza”.
David Rees, economista senior de mercados emergentes de Schroders, cree que la omnipresencia de la inflación no desaparecerá pronto y da varias razones para argumentar esta hipótesis:
-CHINA: la continuidad de la política covid-cero en China hace probable que los cuellos de botella en la cadena de suministro persistan durante algún tiempo. La imposición de confinamientos afectó duramente a la economía china en abril y es probable que el Producto Interno Bruto (PIB) se contraiga en el segundo trimestre en comparación con el anterior.
“Al fin y al cabo, China se ha convertido en un elemento central de las cadenas de suministro mundiales, y las restricciones impuestas para contener el covid han obstaculizado gravemente la actividad manufacturera y han provocado un atasco en las infraestructuras de transporte. Por ejemplo, un conjunto de datos diarios sobre la congestión de los barcos portacontenedores en los 55 principales puertos de China ha aumentado a medida que los barcos se han visto obligados a esperar para ser cargados y descargados”, sentenció David Rees.

-TASAS DE INTERÉS: la banca central está acelerando el ritmo de sus políticas restrictivas en un intento por poner coto a la inflación. Sin embargo, estas medidas (subidas de tasas y drenaje de liquidez) tienen un impacto directo sobre la demanda, pero no tienen per se la capacidad para solucionar los problemas en la oferta, que están causando hoy buena parte de la inflación.
Una subida de tasas de interés no va a hacer que los buques portacontenedores lleguen antes a su destino o que la producción de cereal se reanude en Ucrania.
-SERVICIOS: este es otro de los factores que preocupa sobremanera. La inflación ya ha permeado en los servicios y está subiendo con intensidad. Cuando las subidas de precios llegan a este sector, se puede decir oficialmente que la inflación ha dejado de ser transitoria. Los economistas de Nomura advierten de que este va a ser el tercer shock de inflación al que nos enfrentamos. Primero fue la energía, ahora están siendo los alimentos y el siguiente será el shock de los servicios.
-MATERIAS PRIMAS: los precios de la energía se han estabilizado desde la conmoción inicial de los mercados tras la invasión de Ucrania por parte de Rusia. Pero siguen siendo altos y podrían volver a subir, advierte Rees. Las refinerías están trabajando al máximo de su capacidad, mientras que la demanda de combustible dará un salto este verano a medida que los ciudadanos de medio mundo inicien sus vacaciones. Esto podría desembocar en una subida más intensa y prolongada de los combustibles, llegando a generar escasez en el peor de los casos.
Ayer, el hombre más rico del mundo, Elon Musk tuitéo una imagen en donde se ve que el precio de la gasolina en algunas partes de Estados Unidos se ubica en 7.11 dólares por galón (equivalente a 37.50 pesos por litro).
Mientras que en Europa, la Confederación Española de Empresarios de Estaciones de Servicio (CEEES), anticipa que el litro de gasolina podría llegar a superar la barrera de los 3 euros este mismo verano.
Con estos datos, el experto de Schroders coincide con los de Commerzbank y apunta que la inflación aún no ha tocado techo. Con información de Eleconomista.es
