El actor se hospeda en un lujoso hotel, cuya habitación es enriquecida con oxígeno para ayudar a combatir problemas vinculados al mal de altura (tres mil 400 metros sobre el nivel del mar).
Lima. El actor canadiense Jim Carrey, quien llegó a la andina ciudad peruana de Cusco, inició hoy un plan turístico que lo llevará a la fortaleza inca de Sacsayhuamán y a la ciudadela de Machu Picchu.
Radioemisoras locales señalaron que el protagonista de la película "La máscara" se aloja en un lujoso hotel, cuya habitación es enriquecida con oxígeno para ayudar a combatir problemas vinculados al mal de altura (tres mil 400 metros sobre el nivel del mar).
El actor pudo deleitarse desde la tarde del miércoles del suntuoso inmueble, desde el cual se ve la ciudad, los tejados de colores de Cusco y los hermosos patios interiores, los que tienen un mobiliario que combina lo moderno con lo colonial español.
Carrey, quien viajará este jueves a la fortaleza de Sacsayhuaman, dijo en Twitter que "aquí buscaré las antiguas civilizaciones y descifraré los orígenes de los incas que construyeron Machu Picchu".
"Tengo la intención de subir a la cima y ahí me preguntaré: ¿Cómo es que hicieron esto? Luego me iré a casa", comentó el actor en su cuenta.
Carrey visitó hace un tiempo Río de Janeiro, para promocionar su última película, "Los pingüinos del señor Popper", y comentó su deseo de adentrase en la selva amazónica brasileña junto con su amigo, el actor brasileño Rodrigo Santoro.
El actor canadiense será llevado este jueves al Cusicancha o Palacio de Pachacútec, donde se encontró un conjunto de soportes de vasijas a nivel del suelo que habrían servido para colocar aríbalos, urpus y ollas.
Visitará además la calle Hatún Rumiyoc, una de las más emblemáticas de la ciudad de Cusco, donde se encuentra la famosa "Piedra de los doce ángulos", la cual muestra el perfecto ensamblaje de la arquitectura incaica.
Algunos estudiosos aseveran que esta piedra representa los 12 meses del calendario inca y los 12 linajes de Cusco, aunque no falta quien asegura que es simplemente un ejemplo de la maestría del manejo arquitectónico de los incas.
