¡Histórico! Saray Khumalo es la primera sudafricana en subir el Everest

Este era el cuarto intento de ascenso al Everest para Khumalo, una ejecutiva residente en Johannesburgo.
La sudafricana Saray Khumalo se acaba de convertir en la primera mujer negra africana en coronar el Everest (8,848 metros), según informó este jueves su equipo de comunicación.
"Hace un poco Saray N'kusi Khumalo alcanzó la cima del mundo. Nacida en Zambia, con sangre ruandesa y ahora sudafricana, esta hermana de África ha logrado su meta de convertirse en la primera mujer negra africana en coronar el Everest", transmitió esta madrugada la organización Summits with a Purpose, fundada por Khumalo, a través de sus redes sociales.
Este era el cuarto intento de ascenso al Everest para Khumalo, una ejecutiva residente en Johannesburgo.
En las otras ocasiones, el mal tiempo y un devastador terremoto en Nepal (2015) le impidieron alcanzar la cumbre.

Khumalo hace montañismo con fines benéficos y de concienciación desde hace unos 6 años.
En su currículum figuran también subidas al Kilimanjaro (5,896 metros, en 2012) y al Aconcagua (6,962 metros, en 2015).
