Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo y Banco Mundial dejan de cumplir su labor: BCIE

CDMX.- Es deseable que se arregle todo el desorden por el que está pasando el Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (BID) para que vuelva atender a los más vulnerables en la región, señaló el presidente ejecutivo del Banco Centroamericano de Integración Económica (BCIE), Dante Mossi.
Dijo que organizaciones financieras y multilaterales como el BID y el Banco Mundial (BM) se olvidaron de regiones en donde vive la población más desprotegida, como en Centroamérica.
En entrevista durante su visita a Mérida, Yucatán, en donde se llevó a cabo la LXII reunión de la asamblea de gobernadores del BCIE, dijo que en momentos de alta inflación se requiere tener instituciones integradas más fuertes y sólidas para enfrentar este reto.
Al preguntarle su opinión sobre la situación en el BID, en donde la semana pasada se dio a conocer una investigación sobre irregularidades de su presidente, Mauricio Claver-Carone, destacó cómo otras instituciones subregionales han hecho más con menos.
“Eso es lo que resaltamos, que mientras aquellos otros bancos son más grandes, con capitales mayores, desatienden su misión; son instituciones que fueron creadas para atender a sus poblaciones más vulnerables”, ponderó.
Como ejemplo mencionó que las estadísticas muestran que el BCIE provee más de la mitad del financiamiento de la región, es decir en Centroamérica.
