Recorta Banxico la tasa de interés por el temor a una recesión global; Presidente se siente optimista
Las bajas calificaciones que las tres principales compañías evaluadoras del mundo hicieron sobre México, fueron desestimadas hace dos meses por el presidente Andrés Manuel López Obrador, quien afirmó que las calificadoras no consideraron el impacto de la corrupción en sus análisis.
La semana pasada, el Ejecutivo federal juró y perjuró que el País no está en recesión económica, aunque especialistas dentro y fuera de nuestras fronteras ubican a la nación en plena desaceleración. Vaya, si Alemania registra una disminución en sus finanzas -ligera, pero disminución al fin-, por qué México sería inmune a los vaivenes de la economía mundial.
Hace cuatro días, los miembros de la junta de gobierno del Banco de México, en una decisión no unánime, anuncian reducir un cuarto de punto en la tasa de interés de referencia, del 8.25% al 8%, el primer recorte en cinco años.
Pero, como en los casos previos, mientras los expertos advierten de riesgos que esta medida quiere paliar, AMLO vuelve a modular su voz, como siempre que habla de economía, y sentencia: “Vamos muy bien en lo económico”.
La postura del tabasqueño parece colocar a un México blindado, encerrado en una burbuja lejos de la comunidad internacional, que lo mantiene inmune al desplome de las bolsas del mundo; al aumento del costo del dinero; a las turbulencias de economías como la Argentina, en quiebra de facto, y a la virtual guerra comercial entre China y Estados Unidos, las dos mayores economías del planeta.
López Obrador no ve riesgo de una desaceleración económica con la baja en las tasas de interés, al contrario, cree que es un síntoma más del bueno estado de las finanzas nacionales y de la confianza que los inversionistas privados tienen en el futuro de México.
“La mayoría de bancos y casas de análisis esperaban una rebaja del precio del dinero, pero no tan temprana”, indica el rotativo español El País, “la auguraban para septiembre y no para agosto”.
Con todo, en el comunicado de Banxico sobre su determinación, se explica porque adelantó la reducción de intereses: “Durante el segundo trimestre se desaceleró la actividad económica mundial, reflejando una menor expansión en las principales economías avanzadas y emergentes. Y las perspectivas de crecimiento se han revisado nuevamente a la baja”, reconoce la institución.
En contraste, el optimismo del Presidente de México va en el sentido de que Banxico suministre oxígeno a la economía.
