‘Sólo Dios nos detiene’: éxodo migratorio en Saltillo

Huyen del crimen en su país, pero en su paso por México han sido víctimas de autoridades. Les espera lo mismo en EU
Pese a que la Caravana Migrante ha arrebatado la atención pública, presenciar de cerca el éxodo migratorio es el pan de cada día en las fronteras de México.
Desde Saltillo, José María, Eliud y David refuerzan el argumento de que en Honduras las bandas delincuenciales y la corrupción han provocado que vivir ahí sea un asunto inviable.
“No dejamos de pensar en el sueño americano. Queremos un futuro mejor”, expresan.
En Honduras existe gente que busca un empleo digno que solvente los gastos mínimos para sobrevivir, pero también hay quienes tienen pequeños negocios, sin embargo el cobro de cuotas por parte de las pandillas de la Mara Salvatrucha hacen que pasar un día y amanecer al otro sea todo un reto.
“Esto pasa por muy poco que sea el negocio, tienes que pagar por semana. Hay veces que si no pagas la cuota lo que toca es huir porque si no te matan. Allá a diario hayan embolsadas a las personas que no tuvieron para pagar. Tampoco hay empleo”, dice Eliud.
José María recuerda que en el mes que lleva de tránsito por México ha sufrido asaltos y extorsiones a manos de las autoridades y sujetos desconocidos que podrían ser parte de grupos de la delincuencia organizada.
Ese es el camino al que se enfrentará la Caravana que apenas ha avanzado alrededor de 200 kilómetros, de los cuatro mil que se estiman si se toma la ruta migratoria de Occidente.
“Uno deja eso, y viene a caer en las redes de la extorsión aquí también”, insiste.
José María dejó a su único hijo con familiares y amigos en Honduras, en un poblado cercano a Tegucigalpa, asegurando que para darle el futuro prometido tiene que conquistar el “sueño americano”.
“No está muy fácil. Hemos visto la xenofobia de Donald Trump al decir que va a poner a las fuerzas armadas en la frontera, pero eso no es una frontera pa’ nosotros; sea como sea siempre vamos a llegar”.
Pocos días antes de que José María intente cruzar de nuevo a Estados Unidos, dice que la Caravana será protegida por Dios: “Que cuide sus pasos”.
“Si tienen el pensamiento de quedarse por acá insistan en su visa mexicana. Pero casi todos traemos el sueño americano huyendo de la violencia y la economía de nuestro país. ¡No se rindan, somos catachos de corazón, cinco estrellas hasta la muerte! ¡Que Dios los bendiga!”, añade.
De acuerdo con la información de la Casa del Migrante de Saltillo, detrás de esta caravana se anuncian dos más provenientes de El Salvador y Guatemala con al menos dos mil personas, y una más saldrá de Honduras conformada por madres de migrantes desaparecidos en México.
“Bendecidos sean, hermanos de la Caravana. Todos somos los mismos. Sólo Dios nos detiene”, es el mensaje de los hondureños que están por intentar cruzar a EU en los próximos días.
