Esta primera semana de agosto tuvieron su regreso algunas temporadas de series del streaming lo mismo que el inicio de una producción australiana con el actor mexicano Sebastián Zurita en el elenco:
‘PHYSICAL’ (APPLE TV)
El pasado miércoles 2 inició la tercera y última temporada de esta serie con tono satírico que recomendamos en su momento protagonizada por la actriz británica Rose Byrne como un ama de casa de los años 80 con trastornos alimenticios y un matrimonio disfuncional que la llevan a encontrar la solución a todo esto (al menos en apariencia) en el deporte de moda de la época: los aeróbicos, pero también en la relación extramarital con un político conservador de San Diego que es todo lo contrario a su esposo liberal y ambientalista. En esta última temporada, aprovechando el boom de los Juegos Olímpicos en Los Ángeles 1984 apuesta el todo por el todo por una exposición mayor como instructora a través de la TV nacional para competir con la máxima estrella con los riesgos consabidos de por medio.
‘HEARTSTOPPER’ (NETFLIX)
Luego de haber causado sensación alrededor del mundo con el estreno de su primera temporada el año pasado dentro de su respectiva plataforma vuelve por sus fueros este melodrama juvenil y de temática LGBT de manufactura británica basada a su vez en un fenómeno literario que nos cuenta la historia de Charlie (Joe Locke) y Nick (Kit Connor), un par de adolescentes que descubren que la amistad que se da en el pupitre que comparten en clases va más allá de eso enfrentando por consiguiente desde su entorno estudiantil inmediato hasta el familiar y social con una frescura y cuidado tal que cautivó inclusive a públicos heterosexuales. Esta nueva temporada los lleva desde la lucha por la aceptación de su relación de noviazgo ante todos los que lo rodean hasta un viaje a la capital del amor: París, Francia.
‘LAS FLORES PERDIDAS DE ALICE HART’ (AMAZON PRIME VIDEO)
Como anticipamos al inicio de estos comentarios, el mismo jueves 3 que estrenó Netflix la mencionada “Heartstopper” esta otra plataforma nos sorprende gratamente con una serie realizada en el continente australiano y que protagonizada por la primera actriz tres veces nominada al Oscar, Sigourney Weaver, también se basa en un éxito literario en su caso enfocada en el público femenino por seguir la historia de la joven del título, Alice Hart, quien pasa de un inició trágico al perder a sus padres a la tutela de su abuela desconocida (La Weaver), en apariencia líder de un culto lésbico y “silvestre” pero quien al crecer siendo interpretada por la actriz también australiana Alycia Debnam-Carey (“Fear the Walking Dead”) enfrentará su legado matriarcal al enamorarse de Dylan (el actor mexicano Sebastián Zurita).
‘LAKERS: TIEMPO PARA GANAR’ (HBO MAX)
Para cerrar con broche de oro nuestra lista, a partir de la noche de hoy se encuentra disponible en esta plataforma el regreso del también nominado al Oscar John C. Reilly (“Chicago”) en su caso interpretando al magnate del deporte del baloncesto de la vida real Jerry Buss, responsable de haber informado toda una dinastía deportiva al comprar el equipo de los Laker de Los Ángeles a inicios de los años 80 y apostando por un nuevo elemento, el célebre Magic Johnson (Quincy Isaiah), ahora ya encarrilados en los sucesos que pusieron en riesgo de supervivencia a esta dinastía en particular a partir del contagio del mencionado Magic Johnson por su “vida loca” del virus del sida a inicios de los años 90 y las consecuencias en el mundo del deporte de esa alarmante noticia para la época.
