Coahuila; reportan 54 avistamientos de osos en 2021

La Secretaría de Medio Ambiente de Coahuila exhortó a la población que habita en áreas serranas o perímetros suburbanos del Estado a notificar a las autoridades avistamientos de oso negro, y recomendó no alimentarlos, para evitar posibles ataques.
Eglantina Canales Gutiérrez, titular de la dependencia estatal, informó que hasta el mes de octubre pasado se recibieron 54 reportes de avistamientos del animal, sobre todo en las inmediaciones de la Sierra de Arteaga.
Se trata del mayor número de avistamientos de esta especie desde el año 2019 cuando se reportaron 60, mientras que en 2018 fueron 38 y en 2020, 71.
“En virtud de que es un animal salvaje, se debe evitar darle comida, porque el acercamiento con la especie podría derivar en ataques en detrimento de la integridad física de las personas”, abundó Canales Gutiérrez.
Agregó que la Secretaría a su cargo elaboró una estadística sobre la presencia de oso negro en Coahuila durante los últimos 48 meses.
En este lapso, concluyó, se reportaron 71 capturas; 223 avistamientos, y 22 decesos (principalmente por atropellamientos), para un gran total de 316 casos.
