Crea firma para no quedarse atrás ante el éxito logrado por ChatGPT
El empresario Elon Musk anunció la creación de la empresa X.AI Corp. en su intención de no quedarse atrás en el desarrollo de inteligencia artificial.
El interés del CEO de Tesla, SpaceX y Twitter en esta tecnología no es nuevo, después de todo en 2015 fue uno de los fundadores de OpenAI, que es hoy conocida por ser dueña de ChatGPT, pero tres años después la abandonó citando un conflicto de intereses con su trabajo en Tesla.

Más recientemente, Musk formó parte de una carta firmada por empresarios y académicos publicada por Future of Life Institute, en la que se pidió una pausa inmediata en los experimentos de entrenamiento relacionados con modelos de lenguaje grandes que eran más potentes que GPT-4, el modelo de lenguaje de OpenAI. Desde entonces, más de 25 mil personas han firmado la carta.
Sin embargo, dicha iniciativa como tal no ha tenido frutos porque la misiva no aborda temas técnicos sobre dónde se necesita hacer dicha pausa o las acciones que debe tomar la industria.
LA POSIBLE ESTRATEGIA
El también fundador de Neuralink dijo en una entrevista que la inteligencia artificial tiene el potencial, por pequeño que sea, de destruir la civilización.
De acuerdo con información revelada por The Wall Street Journal, dicha X.AI Corp. tiene, de momento, sólo dos miembros, es decir, Musk funge como director general o CEO y Jared Birchall, quien es conocido como su mano derecha, como secretario.
Además, ambos habrían autorizado la venta de acciones de X.AI Corp., alrededor de 100 millones, con el objetivo de recaudar capital privado, y también estarían en conversaciones con inversionistas de Tesla y SpaceX.
En particular porque la carrera de la inteligencia artificial sigue avanzando, ya que el éxito de ChatGPT de OpenAI ha hecho que otras empresas hagan anuncios relacionados con este tipo de tecnología.
Por ejemplo, Microsoft anunció una inversión multimillonaria en OpenAI y a inicios de este año actualizó su motor de búsqueda Bing con un chatbot de inteligencia artificial.
Mientras que Meta, que pertenece a Mark Zuckerberg, anunció un nuevo modelo llamado LLaMA y Google lanzó un chatbot llamado Bard.
