Se disparan defunciones de menores por COVID-19 en Coahuila
2020 y 2021 promediaron un deceso cada cuatro semanas, mientras, este año el ritmo es de un fallecimiento cada siete días; sigue desaceleración de contagios en la entidad.
El promedio de muertes de menores de edad por COVID-19 en Coahuila se disparó en el inicio del 2022 con la cuarta ola de contagios, al pasar de un deceso cada cuatro semanas, a un fallecimiento cada siete días, de acuerdo con un análisis de las estadísticas de las autoridades de salud.
Durante todo enero y lo que va de febrero, en la entidad han fallecido por coronavirus seis menores, desde recién nacidos hasta los 17 años, según los reportes de la Secretaría de Salud estatal.
El primer deceso del año fue de un menor de 11 años, que se registró en Matamoros el 12 de enero. Nueve días después, el 21 de enero, en el mismo municipio, se registró el fallecimiento de una menor de 13 años. Luego, el 25 de enero se reportó el fallecimiento de un jóven de 16 años en el municipio de Frontera.
A finales de enero y principios de febrero, la Secretaría de Salud reportó la muerte de dos mujeres recién nacidas. Los dos casos se registraron en Saltillo; el primero de ellos el 29 de enero y el segundo el 2 de febrero.
Finalmente, el pasado viernes 4 de febrero falleció otro menor de edad, una niña de un año en el municipio de Torreón.

Con esos datos, Coahuila promedia la muerte de al menos un menor de edad cada semana en lo que va del 2022, lo que supera el promedio que se tenía tanto en 2020, cuando inició la pandemia, como en 2021.
Desde que inició la contingencia y hasta el pasado 31 de diciembre de 2021, la entidad registró 27 fallecimientos de menores de edad por COVID-19, siendo el grupo de edad con menos decesos.
Es decir, durante ese periodo de 97 semanas, Coahuila promedió la muerte de un menor de edad cada cuatro semanas.

En el panorama general, la Secretaría de Salud de Coahuila informó ayer el fallecimiento de 30 personas por COVID-19. Con esta cifra, el estado hiló cuatro días consecutivos con 30 o más casos fatales, que sumaron 123 decesos en el periodo.
Además, ayer también se detectaron 586 nuevos positivos, por lo que en el mismo periodo se han contagiado 3 mil 116 coahuilenses.
Casi la tercera parte de los contagios y defunciones se registraron en Saltillo, con 184 positivos y 6 decesos este sábado para acumular mil 116 y 35 casos respectivamente en los últimos cuatro días.
Es decir, la capital del estado acaparó el 35.81 por ciento de los contagios y el 28.45 por ciento de los fallecimientos.
Sin embargo, la cantidad de casos activos ha ido a la baja en este mismo periodo, pues el 2 de febrero (primero con 30 muertes) había 11 mil 215 pacientes distribuidos en el estado, mientras que este sábado se reportó la presencia de 8 mil 504.
Coahuila se mantiene en color naranja en el semáforo epidemiológico, lo que significa todavía un alto riesgo de contagio y mortalidad. (Con información de Nazul Aramayo)
