Pagará Televisa 95 mdd por el ‘escándalo FIFA’

Alcanza acuerdo con inversores en Estados Unidos y sólo esperan la autorización de un juez
La acusación de pago de sobornos para obtener los derechos de cuatro torneos de la Copa Mundial de Futbol le costará 95 millones de dólares a Televisa, según un acuerdo al que habría llegado con inversores en Estados Unidos.

El acuerdo preliminar en efectivo con los tenedores de los certificados de depósito estadounidenses (ADR) de Grupo Televisa S.A.B. se presentó el martes por la noche en la Corte Federal de Manhattan y requiere la aprobación de un juez.
Televisa fue acusada de inflar artificialmente el precio de su ADR al ocultar cómo planeó obtener los derechos de la Copa del Mundo para 2018, 2022, 2026 y 2030 mediante sobornos, mientras promocionaba públicamente su compromiso con prácticas comerciales éticas. La FIFA es el organismo rector del futbol mundial.
Los inversores dijeron que sufrieron pérdidas cuando se conocieron los sobornos durante juicios por corrupción en Brooklyn, Nueva York, lo que provocó que el precio del ADR cayera.
Televisa negó haber actuado mal al aceptar llegar a un acuerdo. No respondió de inmediato este miércoles a las solicitudes de comentarios.
El demandante principal es Palm Tran Inc Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1577 Pension Plan of Atlanta.
ESTALLA CORRUPCIÓN EN EL 2015
La oficina del fiscal federal en Brooklyn dio a conocer su investigación sobre corrupción en el fútbol internacional en 2015. Más de 40 personas han sido acusadas penalmente y al menos 31 se han declarado culpables.
Tres acusados, los ejecutivos de 21st Century Fox Hernán López y Carlos Martínez y la empresa argentina de marketing deportivo Full Play Group SA, están siendo juzgados en Brooklyn.
Otros dos acusados, el exlíder del futbol brasileño José María Marín y el exlíder de la Conmebol Juan Angel Napout, de Paraguay, fueron condenados en un juicio en el 2017.
