‘Trepa’ el valor del bitcoin a casi 30 mil dólares

Recibe impulso del temor entre los inversionistas a una posible quiebra del banco First Republic
El precio del bitcoin subió 9% en las últimas 24 horas, a 29 mil 800 dólares, al desatarse los temores por una quiebra bancaria inminente, ya que las acciones del First Republic Bank cerraron el martes en Wall Street con una caída de más del 50 por ciento.
Las señales de debilidad del sistema financiero estadounidense han aumentado las probabilidades de que los apostadores por el bitcoin obtengan ganancias de 780 millones de dólares para este 28 de abril, cuando vencen las opciones. El precio de bitcoin llegó a alcanzar ayer un máximo de 30 mil 24 dólares en Bitstamp.

A pesar del giro positivo, el precio de la moneda digital sigue siendo 22.5% inferior en 12 meses, lo que explica por qué los alcistas están lejos de ser optimistas.
Algunos analistas achacan la dificultad de arribar a los 31 mil dólares al duro entorno regulador de las criptomonedas, especialmente en EU, que se hizo más evidente después de que Coinbase interpusiera una demanda judicial para obligar a la Comisión de Bolsa y Valores (SEC) a aclarar las normas del sector.
Aún así, las ganancias del bitcoin suman 27% entre el 26 de marzo y el 26 de abril.
El banco británico Standard Chartered estima que “el duro invierno del bitcoin” podría haber llegado a su fin y que para finales del 2024 podría alcanzar la frontera sicológica de los 100 mil dólares.
Abril ha sido el mes en que se ha consolidado una recuperación del precio después de la caída hasta los 16 mil dólares en noviembre del 2022, tras el máximo histórico de 64 mil dólares tocado en noviembre del 2021.
EFECTO BANCARIO
El jefe de investigación de la plataforma australiana de criptoeducación Collective Shift, el precio del bitcoin subió inmediatamente después de que Charles Gasperino, periodista de Fox News Business, diera la noticia de que los banqueros que trabajan con First Republic Bank esperan que la institución entre en suspensión de pagos del Gobierno norteamericano.
First Republic empezó a tener problemas a principios de marzo, lo que llevó a 11 de las mayores instituciones bancarias de Estados Unidos, entre ellas JP Morgan y Bank of America Corp, a depositar 30 mil millones de dólares en el banco en problemas.
El pasado 23 de abril, First Republic informó en su llamada de resultados del primer trimestre que los depósitos totales se habían desplomado más de 100 mil millones y que “buscaría opciones estratégicas” para fortalecer su situación financiera lo antes posible.
