Se duplican emergencias por COVID-19 atendidas por Cruz Roja en Saltillo
Saltillo, Coahuila.- Cada semana las ambulancias de la Cruz Roja atienden alrededor de 10 emergencias COVID-19, una cifra que se duplicó durante la cuarta ola de contagios.
De acuerdo al Coordinador de Socorro y Servicio de Ambulancias de la Cruz Roja, Juan Carlos Rocha, anteriormente se atendieron entre 3 o 4 emergencias por COVID-19, la mayoría por afectaciones que provocaba la enfermedad.
Sin embargo, la cifra aumentó un 50% durante las últimas semanas, la mayoría son emergencias con un cuadro de síndrome respiratorio agudo, donde los pacientes presentan dificultad para respirar.
“A pesar de que algunos ya tienen oxígeno en su casa no logran corregir la dificultad respiratoria, acudimos a estabilizarlos y darles soporte pero se trasladan a un hospital COVID-19”, comentó Rocha y agregó que la gran mayoría de los llamados de emergencia corresponden a Saltillo.
En cuanto a la procedencia, detalló que las emergencias corresponden a toda la ciudad, sin que los reportes se concentren en alguna colonia o zona de la capital.

“Lo que es importante destacar es que la mayoría de los pacientes que se atienden en esta emergencia son adultos mayores que no completaron su esquema de vacunación o nunca recibieron ninguna dosis”, destacó el Coordinador.
Si tenemos una incidencia muy notable, pues a la hora de cuestionar nos dicen que no están vacunados o que no completaron su esquema de vacunación, reiteró, además de identificar que quienes más requieren de una emergencia médica o de traslado son pacientes con comorbilidades.
Por otra parte, señaló que actualmente existen tres personas del personal de paramédicos contagiadas, todas con un estado de salud estable y recuperándose.
“De nuestro personal, afortunadamente en las anteriores olas aunque sí hubo contagios fueron pocas, así como esta ocasión”, agregó el Coordinador.
