Anuncian inversión en Saltillo de 19 mdd

Con siete ciudades fueron con las que compitió Saltillo para quedarse con la que será la primera planta de HNI en México, la que representa una inversión de 19 millones de dólares y una generación de 250 empleos.
Hace unos días desde sus oficinas en Muscatine, Iowa, HNI Corporation informaba sobre la instalación de esta nueva planta de fabricación de muebles en el Parque Industrial Mencorsa, mientras que ayer se realizó el anuncio formal de inversión y en el que estuvieron el gobernador Miguel Ángel Riquelme, el alcalde de Saltillo, Manolo Jiménez, y el director de HNI México, Max Sánchez Armas, entre otros.
Este último dijo que Saltillo compitió con ciudades como Monterrey, Ciénega de Flores, Juárez, Reynosa y otras del Bajío, sin embargo, optaron por esta ciudad por su calidad de vida, seguridad y la certeza económica.
La planta arrancará operaciones en febrero de 2022, producirán entre 150 mil a 250 mil sillas para oficina por año y el 98% de ellas se exportará a los Estados Unidos, mientras que de los 250 empleos que estará generando, 66% serán directos, 21% indirectos, 7% supervisión de ingeniería y 6% de plantilla administrativa.
En su mensaje, el alcalde Manolo Jiménez señaló que es una inversión importante para Saltillo, asimismo dijo que aquí se trabaja en equipos ciudadanos, los empresarios y el gobierno para hacer de Saltillo un municipio más competitivo.
A su vez, el gobernador Miguel Ángel Riquelme Solís señaló que en las últimas semanas la llegada de inversiones a Coahuila son una constante y en cada región se han anunciado al menos uno o dos nuevos proyectos, lo que ha permitido superar en mucho el número de empleos perdidos durante la pandemia, lo que habla de reactivación económica en la entidad.
