Realizarán detecciones gratuitas de VIH en antros de Saltillo; Coahuila en el lugar 26 a nivel nacional

Saltillo, Coahuila.- Este fin de semana se llevarán a cabo detecciones de VIH afuera de al menos 15 antros de Saltillo como parte de la campaña “Igualdad Ya” en el marco del Día Mundial de la Lucha Contra el Sida.
Gerardo de Valle de Valle, responsable estatal del Programa de Detección del VIH / SIDA, indicó que será cerca de dichos lugares donde además se dará información oportuna para el tratamiento de la enfermedad.
“Serán permanentes jueves, viernes, sábados y domingo, hemos visto una buena participación por parte de los jóvenes que acuden a los antros”, expresó e indicó que gracias a las acciones de promoción y difusión impulsadas existe un mayor flujo de información hacia la población, acortando el estigma que en décadas anteriores existía entorno a la enfermedad y sus pacientes.

“Sigue habiendo estigmas, pero es cada vez menos porque hay mayor información. Es importante que la población conozca que la vida de una persona que vive con el virus del VIH es igual en años que de una persona que no vive con VIH”, comentó.
De igual manera, el encargado estatal de este programa destacó que a través de los nuevos tratamientos antirretrovirales con los que cuenta la Secretaría, ahora con una sola pastilla al día los pacientes pueden estar indetectables, lo que significa que la carga de virus que tienen en su organismo se encuentra muy por debajo.
“Eso nos indica que la persona está en control y eso nos va a dar una vida normal. La esperanza de vida ya es superior a los 40 años después del diagnóstico”, manifestó y agregó que respecto al número de casos en Coahuila actualmente son tres mil 354, ocupando el lugar 26 en la tabla nacional.
El 83 por ciento son del sexo masculino y el 17 por ciento es femenino, comentó, y la edad que predomina es de 25 a 44 años, mientras la incidencia se encuentra más marcada en los municipios de Saltillo, Torreón, Piedras Negras, Acuña y Monclova.
En cuanto a la atención que los pacientes reciben en el estado, De Valle puntualizó que todos aquellos que padecen de VIH o SIDA, y que cuentan con una derechohabiencia en el IMSS o ISSSTE, son atendidos de manera gratuita.
Mientras que los ciudadanos que no cuentan con una seguridad social, reciben medicación y atención en las unidades médicas CAPASITS.
Misma situación para la población que haya estado en una situación de riesgo de contagio, pues puede realizarse una prueba rápida gratuita en las unidades médicas del IMSS o ISSSTE, según sea su derechohabiencia.

Por otro lado, adelantó que en Saltillo, Piedras Negras, Monclova, Torreón, Acuña y Nueva Rosita tendrán jornadas de pláticas y orientación, tanto de manera interna en los centros médicos, al igual que en escuelas.
Finalmente, reiteró que la prevención es la llave para llevar una adecuada salud, y enfatizó que es importante que la población en general acuda a los centros de salud para realizarse su chequeo periódico en caso de haber estado en una situación de riesgo de contagio.
